What we design

1. Format — Hydrogel, designed from the material up.

   Hydrogel is the foundation of Biodance, but no products are built exactly the same.

   We design each gel by adjusting the polymers that form it and the precise ratio of each. This determines how the gel flexes, adheres, and feels on the skin. That is why every product line has its own hydrogel structure, developed around both its formula and how it will be used.

   A moving curve or a delicate area of skin needs more than the same material cut into a different shape. It needs a structure designed specifically for that area.

   This material-first approach is also what makes our sheet-free masks possible. There is no fabric underneath. The hydrogel is the solidified essence itself, designed to conform closely to the skin.

   Our approach to hydrogel does not end with masks. We are applying the same structural principles to diverse formats, including patches, creams, and mists, expanding hydrogel from a format you wear on your face into textures you can spread, spray, and glide across the skin.

2. Ingredients — Research comes first. Then we test our product again.

   We begin with ingredients supported by published research. But evidence behind an ingredient is only the starting point.

   What really matters is how those ingredients perform together, at the concentrations used, in the finished formula. That is why we clinically test our complete product instead of relying on research behind the individual ingredients.

   A well-known ingredient does not automatically guarantee a well-performing formula. We want credible evidence for the product you put on your skin.

3. Packaging — The packaging is designed around the formula.

   The packaging is extremely important to us. We would never pour a finished formula into any container that is available. Each package is selected carefully and tested according to the formula it holds and the way the product is meant to be used.

   The pressure of a pump. The force and spread of a mist. The amount dispensed each time. Whether the product can be used through to the end. We test every detail before the product is complete.

   Good packaging does more than hold a formula. It protects it, delivers the right amount, and makes the product easier to use every day.

Across every step

We always consider our customers as part of the design process.

Before development begins, we analyze customer reviews at scale to find the needs, frustrations, and small inconveniences that appear again and again in the market. Those patterns become concrete targets for product development.

When we evaluate our own samples, we evaluate them the way a customer would, within a real routine and alongside other products.

We test our products under real-world conditions.

Evaluation does not end when a sample looks right in our lab. We test how products behave under the conditions in which customers will actually use them.

For a cleanser, that means testing it not only with Korean tap water, but also with water adjusted to representative hardness levels in the markets where it will be sold. Water hardness can affect how quickly a cleanser lathers and how much foam it produces. The product needs to perform in your bathroom, not just ours.

If it does not meet our standard, we reformulate and test it again. At Biodance, that is not an exception. It's part of how every product is made.
